Boot popper! Wiring up help please

Hi all,

I've bought myself a boot popper and i'm looking to wire it up so i can only open the boot when the ignition is on! (theft safety feature!). I bought a second hand popper but i don't have any fitting instructions for it.

Does anyone know how to wire up one?

got any pics? and do you have speakers or anything like that in ur boot?

yeah i can get a picture sorted.

I haven't got any system in the boot yet other than parcel shelf 6*9's. Will eventually be putting one in though. Why do you ask about that? does it affect it then?

well i aint never wired one in before but common sence tells me the obviously ur gona need a positive and a negative. and u cud have pinched a them from ur sound system which as yousaid you wanted only comes on when the ignition comes on...........

ah good thinking! I like your thinking there. The problem i've got is i believe a boot popper works by pulling on the cable. The corsa boot lock opens by pushing. So i'm going to have to make something to solve that little beauty. lol

most have a solonoide so no cables needed.........u cud also run a feed off ur cigertte lighter and use that.

Yeah thats the one i've got. I just haven't got the wires or the holding bracket. Bit annoying really as i bought mine for more than the ebay one and have only got the main popper bit. Big DOH!!!

as its wired to a + and - think all u need is a switch m8.
No pulling on wires like ie the bonnet.
av search peice of pi** to do just sort out running wiring upto dash area so u can pop boot from the dash.

sell it on ebay and buy the one i showed you. if you bought a pack with out the bracket no dout there are plenty of people out there that have bought the pack with out the solonoide lol

I might do although i could easierly make a bracket for it!
