Hi guys, I've recently started hearing a rubbing/chaffing noise coming from behind the dash, maybe the engine bay but it can't be heard from outside the car.
The noise is mainly heard when pulling away - around 30mph, but not when idling. Pressing the clutch in doesn't make it go away. I've recently replaced the offside drive shaft to see if that could cure it but no such luck. It can't be the fan belt cos it's not doing it when idling. I thought maybe could be something rubbing on the odometer cable cos it sounds like it's just behind the dash
If anyone can help please do so.
