flat spot

helloguysi havea1.4 16v on a 94 plate and its developed a flat spot at about 3-4000 rpm just wondering what it could be cheers for your help

i dnt no what causes them,
but wen my mate had 1 on his 106 he was told the enging was on its way
bout 2months later it died, but that was a peugeot :lol:

could be 1 of a few things
maf sensor a common one, but could be somthing simple like a clogged airfilter or fuel lines

best bet is to do the paperclip test see if it gives you any faults

it has a green cotton indution kit on it where is the maf sensor and whats the paper clip test cheers mate

shows alot of the major components, may look diffrent from your engine bay but the components are pretty much in the same places

as for the paperclip test, it will tell you if any faults are stored in the ECU
