Hi all got a 1.0 12V 3 cyclinder.
Basically when it gets up to temperature the engine sounds real ticky sounds like in rocker cover. I think it has got the wrong type of oil in it. But would that cause this? Thanks in advance

Re: Ticky engine
it will be your hydraulic lifters, could be caused by incorrect oil. Change it and see what happens

Re: Ticky engine
more than likely its the hydrolic lifters, usualy wrong or low oil would cause them to tick.

Re: Ticky engine
should do, if the oil has the wrong viscocity it wont stick to the parts well and cause especialy the tappets to tick
correct oil depends on the climate should be 5w-30 for cold 15w-40 for moderate and 20w-40 for hot
id go for 15w-40 in england, altho its not really a moderate climate here lol
