Engine conversion: 1.0 12v to 1.6 16v

Post by billywhite88 »

I dont really know anyone who has done this conversion before on a Corsa. I have a 1999 1.0 12v Club and recently aquired a 1.6 16v taken from a 1998 Astra Sport. I was just wondering if anyone had done this conversion or knew of anyone who had for a bit of advice? I don't know what engine mounts to use to get it in and also dont know what driveshafts are used once everyythings in place so i would be grateful for any help with this, cheers :D

Astra Engine and Loom
1.4 Corsa Gearbox and driveshafts
engine bolts straight in on the other engine mounts

Wire it in, jobs done, look on cs for a x18xe1 conversion for the wiring 8)
Drive it like you stole it!!

Then when it breaks, push it like you stole it!!!!

I was told the wiring was different inb the car. I was going to do this conversion but from a corsa c 1.4/1.6 and was told (also for the calibra 2.0ltr) that there is only half the wiring as standard in the 1.0ltr conmpared to the others in the range.

I dont see it being anymore difficult than any other corsa's wiring, except maybe a non-Ecotec GSi corsa.
