sump pan replacement

Hy guys anyone ever replaced their sump pan i got a 5dr corsa ls on a R plate and my sump sprang a leak a couple of weeks ago , just got round to getting the cash together to replace it and wanted to know if any of you had ever done it and had any tips for me.

drain the oil and then drop the exhaust front pipe,remove the flat plate between gearbox and sump to allow you access to bolts behind flywheel next remove all bolts and prise the old sump off.clean block face,fit new gasket and sump .refit exhaust and plate fill with oil start and check for leaks job done. :D

as im a fairly amature (well totally amature) i'm struggleing geting the exhuast off i got one bolt of the flange but cant shift the other one, any tips hints? can i just cut it off ? how would i get the rest of the bolt off??

i suggest you warm the engine up then try get the bolt out, never had a problem with them before, they dont break in a hurry

i wish i could but i've taken all the bolts off the sump already, and as the sump has a hole in it i woyuld be running it dry so it would do the engine no good. i think i'm just gonna have to apply loads of elbow grease and hope for the best

im in the4 middle of takin my sump off but exhaust bolts are rounded what can i do?

undo the exhaust manifold pull it off the studs and drop the lot :lol:

bolts are rounded for exhuast manifold and cant get them off
