Help!!!

my cars is making a klunking sounds when driving and changes gears and specially turning cornors. coming from the left hand side of the car.. really loud klunking noise .. any ideas what is it..

think its the driveshafts.. is the offside driveshaft the long side or the short side?? on a 1.4 1995 reg?

if its the left hand side the noise is coming from thats the near side, and the near side is the shorter driveshaft as thats the side the gearbox is on.

O/S, Offside = Side furthest from the curb
N/S, Nearside = Side nearest to the curb.

i jacked both sides up and the right hand wheel moves like mad.. big play mate.. its making a massive klunkin and crunchin noise but its coming from the left hand side so how can it be the near side mateyy ..??

I had same problem mate same side aswell... Myn was the bearins on that side they was totally shagged lol all I could here wen drivin was a knocking noise.. When goin round corner it was louder also sometimes made a squeaking noise... And rear end shaked at speed...

yeah its like wen i turn and accelerate through a cornor man.. takes the piss only just got the car and spent over £300 on fixing it now this.. do u reakon i should get second hand driveshafts.. for both sides then it will cure the problem for sure loooool.. well i hope it does aha :)

the left hand side of the car is the nearside and since you said the noise comes from the left side thats why i said the left sides the n/s.

its reet mate u blagged my head with what you had written haha.

in all honesty mate i would change both driveshafts coz if one is now knockin its obviously worn and the other driveshaft is the same age and that will be gettin worn and its just a matter of time before that goes.

unless you know one was changed and not the other

cheers lad . i got both driveshafts and CV joints For £15.. cheers for the advice lad :)
