help with electics in dash please!

Post by Samo92 »

hey guys,

got a frayed red wire behind my cd payer in as far as i can see its not going directly into the back of the cd player but since its frayed ive got no clock, the cd player wont turn on and the dials dont light up, and when the cd players sat in the dash it makes contact with the wire tripping a fuse and shorts out other things, horn, hazzard lights etc

i was wondering will this be an easy fix, and dose anyone know what the wire actualy is, i know its not easy for anyone to tell without seeing it but i thought someone may have had the same problem

thanks
sam

shud be an easy but akward fix. my cd player came with a little rubber bung that screws on the back so it didnt go on it far and damage anything. if urs didnt come with one try either bodging your own or getting one (halfords probly do them)

what colour wire is it?
OFFICAL DVLA DATA:
1414 - corsa gsi's on the road in 2008.
735 - corsa gsi's currently on the road and 436 SORN
Basicly you would have to be a right tw*t to break one for parts

Thanks to everyone for an awsome weekend at pvs!

The red wire is for the ignition, technically it should be plugged into the headunit however some people just install it only using the yellow (battery) wire. If possibly locate the yellow wire input on the back of your headunit and connect the loose red wire to that. It should fix the problems.
