Hi guys, I'm not sure if this is in the right place but I ask anyway.
Me and my wife have got a Corsa 1.2 1996 which has a intermitten fault and it's doing my head in, whats happening is when the car is driven the fault isn't there but once the engine is shut off the car doesn't seem to want to start for between 10 minutes, even up to 60 minutes untill it will start again.
The problem started once the orignal fuel pump died and was replaced but the fuel pump was a cheaper brand one than the one that was on it, (originally a bosch pump) after the pump was replaced all was fine until one day my father in law was driving it and he had to break sharp at a round about and stalled, he tried to start it but it wouldn't so we had it towed home.
We then had a garage out to collect the car to have a look at it but the garage could not find the fault on two occations and this is when it is starting to get annoying, after collecting the car and taking it for a bit of a run, it stalled at a roundabout but started after a couple of trys, then we put petrol in it at the local petrolstation and again because the engine had been stopped it wouldn't start first time. We then took it to another garage to see it it was the garage but he think its the fuel pump but thats been replaced once about month ago and the garage isn't fitting the pump back on now.
I know the car was driving fine once it running but the guy at the garage is addement it's the pump, also he use the computer on the car and nothing came up.
What do you guys think, I've looked at a couple of posts on here and it could be pointing to the crank sensor but I don't know much about cars so I can't make assumsions.
By the way like I said at the end of the message the car is still at the garage so I ca't do the paper clip test. also the Engine Management light came on quite often but never thought anything of it.
