manifold problem

hi there need help, i snapped a bolt in my exhaust manifold for my downpipe, cant get enough of the bolt to grab it and pull out so woul d i be able to drill the bolt and re tap it on the car? its a 1.2 8v, cant get manifold off cause the bolts rounded for it

you sure you cant get the manifold off? as in try thrashing a smaller socket onto the rounded nut because if you can that would make it a hell of alot easier to do!! when one of my exhaust bolts got stuck and i snapped it off i just whipped it off and replaced it, i havent even tried drilling it out, but i can see them being rather hard to be honest because of all the exhaust heat thats gone through them over time. but good luck.

ive tried everything man cant seem to budge it so no idea what to do

how did you manage to get it off? and is it worth drilling it out? you could get hold of a spare manifold for like a fiver or so anyway, iv got a spare in case i get mine stuck :) but i wont sell it tho sorry lol oh also have you started it up yet ;) it sounds BEAST lol

i got these things off my uncle called irwins, there just like sockets what fit over the bolt and grab it and acts as a normal socket to get it off, came off pretty each with a hammer and a big rachet :P and yeah itl be worth it because i can do it at college for nothing, and no not yet i need to get a sump for it first and ive no money for one the now (N)
