hello ppl drive a 1.2 corsa sxi and just wanted to improve a few bits in it so have a few questions
first about the breaks my breaks are far from good da pads look grand but u ve to floor da pedal to slow down or stop specialy after they heat up heard somewhere dat brakes of 1.4 and 1.6 versions will fit 1.2 without the need to change da hub and also dat conversion of bak drum breaks to disk is easily done so was just wandering if dats true?
Also the car heats up to 100 when idling a friend of mine said its because of da exhaust manifold design and dat if u swap it with one of 1.4 version it ll be sorted so just wana know if all of dis is true thanks
need a bita help

Re: need a bita help
first stop with the dis and dat its not a text message lol!
if i wer you wanting to upgrade the brakes without changing the capliers i belive vented 240s will fit, slightly bigger and since they are vented, should keep cool for longer
as for it heating up to 100 when its idling, this is normal
the fan should come on at around 100 as for swapping the exhaust manifold i dunno have never heard that myself not even sure if it would fit.

no offence but if your mate dosnt know thts it normal for your car to heat up when ideling i wudnt be taking his word that a 1.4 manifold will fit. Also the car heats up to 100 when idling a friend of mine said its because of da exhaust manifold design and dat if u swap it with one of 1.4 version it ll be sorted so just wana know if all of dis is true thanks
i've looked into it cos i have the same model corsa and its not possible (from what i have been told) but it was possiblw on the older 8v engines to switch the inlet manifolds from the 1.2 and 1.4 maybe this is what your friend means.
^^^from memory, i could be wrong.
but if octane aint herd of it, i'd be 90% sure it aint true

Re: need a bita help
i have a 1.2 sxi like urs with standard brakes. i am constantly ragging the tits off mine. literally aiming for the limiter in every gear. so i'm constantly on the brakes. i have never had any problems. i often pressure wash my car after a good rally and most of the time as soon as the water hits the breaks it turns to steam.
mine had new pads and disks a not long ago, check yours and ur brake fluid etc. i really cant see u raggin yours more than mine and gettin ur brakes hotter than i do tbh mate. and i hav no problems.
