PCV VALVE/ VENTILATION SYSTEM

Post by Riskendisk »

car: CORSA B 1997 1.2 8V

I was wondering if anyone knows for sure if this car has a pcv valve at all, im gettin alot of condensation gunk in my camcover and throttle body giving rubbish performance. Ive done other checks and have ruled out a head gasket problem etc etc.

So moving on.....ive been told that the vehicle doesnt have a PCV so it just gunks up with crap from the crankcase??? ive installed a homemade oil catch tank to stop all this gunk going into the engine and performance has improved abit. i want to really but this problem to bed coz its been doing my head in for a while.

Anyone had this problem before? there is no information in the haynes manual or online about a pcv or any kind of filter for this car, just seems like it dont exists.

Help.

Positive Crankcase Ventilation valve
The Positive Crankcase Ventilation valve, or PCV valve, is a one-way valve that assists with the continual evacuation of gases from inside the crank case
as far as i am aware the corsa dosnt have one.

i may be wrong its not somthing i have been asked before lol

no, its for venting out exhaust gasses from inside the crank case.
its basicly to vent any blowby gas caused by leaky piston rings.
