my car got nicked

My car got niked on firday night luckly i got it back they going up my street as i was walking down after a night out, i got the car back but poilce come to mine on sataday the kids who niked my car pressed charges and i was in poilce station all sataday nothing happend to them tho :S, but they took the barrle off my car and i got new one on Monday but i mached the wires up but they is a black and red wire spear but the elecric’s will work but it will not spark whats going on lads plese help thanks

the red and black wire is the live to the starter moter mate there should be 2 black 1 red and 1 red and black hold teh 2 blacks together and then but the red to it and then touch the red and black to it then it should start then take the red and black away that will make it start that way you know there is no damage to it then match them all up again on the barrel !!!
