rear light and break light!!!!

ive just passed my driving test, but cant get the car in the road yet, as i was tinkering around with my new spoiler which has a break light on it.

so i tried wiring the new break light to the existing break light, so i cut the 2 wires on the back of the bulbs for the rear light (not knowing which is which)

tried connecting them back together with terminal blocks, but nothing is happening!!! im scared i might have done some permanent damage which needs a profesional to fix? and i cant afford that!

please can anybody give me any ideas how to fix it?

Have a look at the wires going the back light on the other side mate.. See if they give you any help... Bit of friendly advise, think befor ya cut lol make sure ya know what ya doin and how ya gonna do it...

Congrats on passin aswell mate... Will try and have a look at my car in morning see if I can tell ya which wires are which.. What model ya got mate?

when you cut the wires, you havnt blown a fuse have you?
would be the 1st thing to check

nevermind guys, all fixed, pulled all the fuses out to check if any were blown, then after i put them all back in, the lights were working again, rather odd if u tell me haha, thanks anyway

now, how do i wire up a spoiler break light? =/

Get yourself some scotch locks, and take the positive wire and feed it to the positive wire on the brake light. Then you can either take the negative wire to the negative on the brake light, or create yourself another earth. Do not worry if you wire them up wrong, it is an easy fix, and a new fuse will put things right.
