Re: Making a redtop rear wheeled?
that would be alot to ask for, you would have to rotate the engine, and then source another gearbox same as they would use in the rally cars / kit cars, and then cut and weld the fire wall, and the gearbox tunnel and the exhaust tunnel to allow for the different gearbox also to allow for the drive shaft and the exhaust to both run to the rear, then you would have to get a rear axle possibly of a calibra 4x4 or something and adjust the width to the corsa track and then find a way of mounting it to the rear beam area of the car, and then you would have to possibly get a custom drive shaft made up. thats the only way i can see you being able to get a rwd corsa to be honest. orr scrap the whole idea and get a bike engine installed instead. lol

Thomas, Big dan told me about this thread so i joined to post and maybe help you.
Rwd is possible, its been done and quite frankly nearly anything is possible, if a 27 litre V12 can be made to fit a Rover,
http://www.ppcmag.co.uk/index.php?optio ... &Itemid=19
I started the Calibra because they lend themselves to RWD quite easily, its nearly all there from the factory, after all they made a 4wd version so 2 wheel drive is no problem. I wanted to mount the engine longitudually and not transverse.
I used a V6 Omega and robbed most of it, subframe, tunnel, diff etc and all the wiring, i bought a manual box as i didnt want a slush in it.
My advice if you have the will GO FOR IT, just make sure that your prepared to fabricate etc.
The reason why i didnt finish it in case anyones wondering?
I lost my premises and as i already have a garden full of my favourite American Muscle the wife would have killed me.
If you want any advice pm me.
