coilovers and rear springs

hey thur.. quick que, i ave a 2000 1.2 sxi corsa.. mi car as coilovers in the front n asjustable springs in the back! now i no how til mesuare the front 1s but how do u wrk out the bck coz thurs jst lik this wee plate thing that u twist it til were u wnt n put above the rear spring! dose ny 1 no how they wrk cheers
