Yes, you need to clear the fault, but I think you would probably need an obd11scanner or similar to do so. I doubt if undoing the battery would be a reliable fix for an m reg. although it does work on some, though not all Corsa bs., Corsa C,s or D,s for that matter need the tool.
Get an obd11 tool off ebay, it is about £30.00 and you can then clear the fault codes, the software that comes with this tool does a lot more besides, so well worth the investment. How did you arrive at icv valve anyway, if you did not have a scanner?

I have done the paper clip test and my old found a list on the Internet of what the number of flashs mean!

Ok thanks for the advice!

first thing id do is check the radiator fan
since you say its happening when your sat in traffic, no air flowing thru your radiator, your engines getting hotter and hotter untill it turns the radiator fan on.
seen this plently of times if the radiator fan switch is broken your car cant turn the fan when it needs to on therefor giving you the EM light

check fuse F7 or F15 (cnt remember which) if not try a new fan switch
this is screwed in to the radiator down the right hand side

hope this helps :)
