Hi there,
I have been taking out my car for the past few day on the motorway and it seems that it has some problems with the radiator overheating.
When i'm on the motorway or on normal road 5-10 miles into the journey the temp gauge is between the 90-100 and the dashboard gets really hot (also it has messed up my date and time display - half visible, half you can't see like it's melted). When i try and switch the radiator on hot or cold, the temp comes down.
I have checked the water/antifreeze (topped up) but when i have parked the car for some amount of time some form of liquid is leaking from the car (front left side). I've smelt it but it doesn't look like it's oil. I've put my fingers in the front of my car (under the car) and it looks like the leak is coming from the radiator.
It's a Corsa B T Reg (1.2 16v).
Any suggestion and solutions would be handy.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Overheating Problems
is the fan kicking in? and what car is it? because i have a 1.4 16v sport and acording to haynes manual the first fan doesnt kick in until it reaches 100degs and second one at 105 degs. because i got worried because my 1.2 never got over 90 but then i tested it and the fans do start up so im happy to know that the car is ment to run that high a temperature

I've got a corsa 1.2 16v T reg. Yes on 2 occasions the fan did kick in when on the motorway then switched itself off when off the motorway.PRICER wrote:is the fan kicking in? and what car is it? because i have a 1.4 16v sport and acording to haynes manual the first fan doesnt kick in until it reaches 100degs and second one at 105 degs. because i got worried because my 1.2 never got over 90 but then i tested it and the fans do start up so im happy to know that the car is ment to run that high a temperature

Possibly. Left is ok but the right one has gone or it's dim. I'll get it checked out. Thanks pricer.PRICER wrote:oh your on about the display on the top, are you sure the bulbs havent just blown mate? as theirs two small bulbs in that display bit,

Re: Overheating Problems
to get to them, you have to prise down the air vents and theirs two screws behind them that you have to remove then the display should just lift out.
