Project Yogi! 1.2 SXi!
Well not long since returned from a 'lovely' trip 2 Glasgow to pick up the wife's ride and our new project car from "James_O"!!! With a lot of pointing stuff out by her and a lot of doing by me!! haha!! But most importantly she'll be paying for it all!
Mostly visual mods, as she's a girl and insurance will be a killer!!
Here's a couple of 'before' pics when i got her back up the road tonight:-
It's not in the best condition, but for less than 200 squids wot do u expect?! and it appears to be a sound runner - came up the road wi no bother at all!
Needs a new handbrake and a couple o ther wee bits to get it thru an MOT but apart from that jus the usual stuff to be done -
-tidy up bodywork
-new lights front and rear
-new exhaust
-decent wheels!!
-bodykit and spoiler
-detailed interior clean and tart up
-seats/carpet etc.
-minor ICE install
and probably sum wee suprises along the way....
**Progress Update**
Well, work has been unusually busy this week, so i've not got as much as done as i was hoping! but phase one of the project (operation de-chav) is ticking along!!
Goodies have been arriving slowly but surely and Paula has been spending FAR too much time on eBay so more to come!!
Also went to hellfrauds and spent sum pocket money on some of their finest!!!
Here's some pics of our weeks work so far:-
A good clean and got of as much crud from inside as possible!! Also got the door pockets back on
New pink! cd player temp fitted
Debadged, de-glued and de-wipered rear
bump strips off, but glue is being stubborn!! a few more hours patience required!! the hideous fuel cap sticker thing is off now as well, literally held on with SUPER glue
goodies!!
shocking blue side repeaters swapped for some rather nice smokie ones (these are def goin on the vectra as well!!!)
So thats the story so far!
More for Operation De-chav coming soon:-
-Remove remaing, stubborn, glue
-Remove stickers
-New Gear Knob
-New gaitors
-New pedals
Then onto the next phases!
-Sort rusty bits and denty bits!
-new speakers
-new parcel shelf
-possibly a wee sub-box in the boot!!
-fit new steering wheel
-some temp alloys
-floor mats and temp seat covers
-definately change the lights!
thats it for the near future!
we will keep you updated with our progress!
all comments always welcome!

*Project Update*
Another day off and another day of ****e weather!! Typical!! Bet it's sunny tomorrow!!
Well, we got the centre console panel back together after a visit to Hellfrauds for some fixings - there really is no 5 minute jobs where this car is concerned!! replaced the fuses for the display panel and still nothing - blank!! What could be wrong i thought, so, back apart it came to reveal the problem:
No lights!! unbelievable!! this car keeps amazing me, it really does!!! (this will no doubt allow for some pink LED's to be purchased off of ebay!! )
Also, in between the rain showers stripped the bumpers and arches for painting, and so there not in the way for the dent repairs.
So here's Yogi now lookin a bit sorry for himself:
You'll also note that most of the glue from the bump-strips is gone,my drills battery keeps on givin up the ghost!! Whoever said it's only a 2 hour job to remove them were really taking the piss!!
And another one of paula's ebay bargains turned up, not to everyone's taste i know, but i actually like it a lot more than i thought i might! a bargain at 12 quid delivered!!!
Well, thats it for now, good to see things moving along, although it's a shame he's not looking better for it yet!

*Progress Update*
I'm quite chuffed! Things are actually happening with this project!!
So, again, couldnt get much done during the week as I wasn't getting finished work at a sensible time, so the week was pretty slow, until some more goodies started arriving...
And of course replacement rear lights, we were far too keen to get them on the car, so no pics in the box, but here's them on the motor!
Then Sunday comes around again, a day off, and so back to work with Halfords finest rattle cans!!
Even the wife got involved...
Got the car sitting up on stands and took two of the wheels off for a quick refurb...
And since it was actually dry for a change, i finally got the wiper hole on the boot filled up as well!!
So after a busy day off ( i'll be glad to get back to work for a break!) here's how she stands now...
And with big brother in the background!!
So that's how he stands the now, hopefully get the bumpers and trim finished soon and get it all back together!!
All comments welcome...

not sure either, differing opinions on legality, but a sticky back reflector will solve the problem should it arise! i love the look tho

Yeah looks nice the lights. Put standard on or MOT and get a reflective strip or summit incase pigs stop ya.
