Arch Rolling???

Hi,

I have a set of MX5 Wheels on my corsa, but they are 8inch wide on the rear!!! I have No interior in the bk, only one subwoofer and spare wheel. i took the car out 2day to find the rear wheels are really rubbing! and hitting the arches. I have been told you cnt roll the arches on a corsa, is the true?? and what else can i do to stop the rubbing??

(Does not help the car being lowered 40mm!!)
