Corsa Flair crank sensor help needed

Hi all,

I'm new to this site and was wondering if anyone can offer any support.

My partners car keeps breaking down and through research we think it is the crank sensor.My dad is a mechanic so he has changed most of the obvious parts.

The only problem is,is that we cannot find the crank sensor at all! not even my dad can find it to exchange it....is it possible that the car hasn't got one?

My knowledge with cars is minimum

I have tried to find a copy of the Haynes manual for it but cant find it.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

whats the car ? and engine code?

its a Vauxhall corsa b flair 1.4, the cars vehicle id or chassis number is - VSX000073R4061375.

do you not have the engine code?

well regardless i'm no expert but i think that itll be either pointing to the bottom crankshaft pully or more likely at the right of the engine,pointing towards the back of the clutch flywheel

All i know is that a few people have said it's at the back of the engine lowdown...Just don't get why my dad said he couldn't find it...not testing his ability to see but i don't see how he cant see what has to be on the car.

some of the corsas dont have them, what year is it? and is it a 1.4 8v or 16v? check on internet for a replacement for the same model and engine size and if yo can get one then you know there is one, or go to halfords or dingbro if theres one near you and give them the regi and they should be able to tell you if you havee one
