Engine Trouble :(

Post by CrawfordMatee »

When my cars tickin over or when im changin gear the revs will start mucking about and the engine management light will come on?
Was thinking it might be in need of a new throttle body but open to any other suggestions.
If i was comin to lights or watever id be in neutral and it wuld be boucing at about 1400 revs until i rev it and then itll go back down to normal,
Its a 1.0l 12v.
Help meee!!! lol

not really sure what it can be never came across it in my 2 and a half years of being a mechanic, but check air flow meter, put some carb cleaner in the singe point injection, clean the egr valve but youl need to get a new gasket for it its pennys for one though, and also check your plugs they might be mankin,

Had a similar problem earlier this year with my gf's 106 quicksilver. Turned out to be the 12v feed to the coilpack-the wires had broke and just a few of the copper strands were holding it together, wired a new plug and it was sorted. But, the diagnostics came up saying allsorts of jiberish like the CPS etc.

It could be your air flow meter as jordyp has said, check everything he has said, also check your air filter is clean, check the ICV, TPS, and check the accelerator cable isnt sticking
