Exhaust system.. what to get?!

Right i currently have this useless pipercross back box that is doing little to nothing in terms of volume. Basically i want a savage rip from my car, despite it being a 1.2 16v. So how do i achieve a proper head turning note out of my car without destroying all hopes maintaining good fuel consumption? What do i need to buy/fit/alter?

my sportex oval back box gives a nice deep roar and everyone of my mates can hear me a mile off (literally) lol i only hav a 1.2 16v ??? not too nexpensive either.

i've got a bike back box on my 1.2 and it sounds awsome! it even whistles

That's what i like ta hear.. so it'd be a straight swap? Rather than removing things and sticking pipes in everywhere. So then what is the best backbox to get.. like a real deep rumble with plenty of volume?

mine was a straight swap, got the exhaust direct from sportex and they come as direct fitment for your corsa

well brand new about £80 to £100 depending on where you get it from.... i rekon u could get a 2nd hand one though.

Ive got the twin pipe 3inch sportex exhaust back box and a race tube and its propa loud for a 1.2 8v and it makes crackle and sometimes pops. its louds as flip when it gets hot. this is the worst engine which can be loud imagine one of the good engines. a back box alone will give you some bass but wont be that loud. you'll get the rumble and so on but with the silencer removed its the real shizzle there. just to give you an idea of how it looks here are some pics: its not best below the bumper but im going to get it in line with the bumper.

Pretty impressive then. I've noticed quite a few boys goin for the twin pipe at the back, but this doesn't make any difference.. does it? Do you have a link to help me out?

no it makes no difference the tube inside the backbox is the same width on all sportex boxes just with different end trims thye all look great though apart from the porsche boxter exhaust lol have a look on sportex shop on ebay

Ah nice one.. thanks for your help. But is Sportex rated the best, like what about Ashley/Scorpion/Janspeed etc? Are they any louder or anything..?

don't actually know about that, i jsut was recommended sportex and it oaid off, i love the sound it makes,
