My mate has a Renault Clio 1.2 16v RN model with 102k on the clock. A while back the engine decided to lose all compression on the first cylinder, i think its the valve spring. But i'm wondering whether to buy it off him and break it for parts.
I need advising on whether or not to do this, preferably from someone who has done this sort of thing before.
cheers

thats the hard part, because first how much does he want? and then take a look around ebay and a few forums and see roughly how much the bumpers bonnet, doors lights etc are going for, say you got £250 for all the above, then say another £80 for the shell at a scrappy, and maybe some other bits you could fetch of it and sell on ebay, but the main thing is HOW CHEAP CAN YOU GET IT!

no, dont do it..these cars are 10 a penny, u could buy it off him find a second hand engine, throw that in and use it yourself. Personally its only worth breaking a car thats actually worth breaking, scrap yards are full of these clios so dont waste ya time. thats my opinion.
