How difficult is it to turbo the X16XE?
I was thinking maybe engine conversion, defo would not go for the redtop tho, maybe 125bhp 1800 16v out of the corsa C Sri. If i got that engine and did the same mods as ive listed above i think it would go like stink

Re: Gsi Rebuild - suggestions URGENTLY wanted
Got a Corsa B GSI and thinking about turbo conversion. Talked to a few people that have calibra-turbo-engine converted them, and they all thought the cars got too heavy in front. The car with the 1.6 engine is already heavy in front, understeers. I recon the bigger calibra turbo engine would escalate this problem. I use it for track, so it's important for me that it stays as balanced as possible.
Thinking about Turbo, intercooler, and all things necessary to make it happen.
Anyone got experience, tips? Aiming towards 180hp.
Where to get turbo manifold?
Regarding brakes, anyone converted to Calibra turbo 280mm or the nex bigger size (is it 300mm?)? What is needed other than the obvious (Calibra turbo pistons, discs).
how to solve the 5 to 4 hole conversion? Or does one have to change the whatcha-call-it, the part you fasten the wheel bolts into?
No bullshit answers plz.

dont modify a gsi mate, dont go puttin a different engine in it youl ruin it and its value, no offence but gsi's are really rare so best thing you can do is keep it standard and in a couple years youl get a poo load for it mate, so please dont go and ruin a gsi, matty will completly agree when he see's this

if youre in to the track thing then save the money you are prepared to throw at your gsi and buy a decent track car, something designed to be thrown around tracks. got for an impreza/evo/gt4 and save yourself LOTS of hassle.

Re: Gsi Rebuild - suggestions URGENTLY wanted
yes i will, there probly less than 700 gsi's left in the contry at the moment, why would you take a very rare corsa chop it up, modifiy it and rake it round a track when you could do that to any other corsa b thats no where near as rare? if you want a track corsa sell the gsi to some one who is going to look after it and buy someting like a breeze and sxi or one of the lower spec modles. dont ruin a perfectly good car for the sake of a handful of track days a year.matty will completly agree when he see's this
i could show you any amount of videos on youtube of corsa's absolutly thrashing impreza's and evos round a track.if youre in to the track thing then save the money you are prepared to throw at your gsi and buy a decent track car, something designed to be thrown around tracks. got for an impreza/evo/gt4 and save yourself LOTS of hassle.
OFFICAL DVLA DATA:
1414 - corsa gsi's on the road in 2008.
735 - corsa gsi's currently on the road and 436 SORN
Basicly you would have to be a right tw*t to break one for parts
Thanks to everyone for an awsome weekend at pvs!

Re: Gsi Rebuild - suggestions URGENTLY wanted
I didn't know they are rare...
In my opinion, the car is not being ruined by us having fun toghether, I see it as the ultimate respect for the car, to take it to tracks.
It's got two sabelt seats, complete safety cage, coilovers (stiff as few), 2.5" exhaust and open air filter.
I have a Dbilas inlet that I got with the car when I bought it last year in the spring. I bought it for track use, I had sold my more expensive nissan 200 s14 that had 310.5 rwhp (345 in engine) because I needed cash for renovation of my house. I wanted a cheap car because my philosophy is that one can have a lot of fun on track, also with a cheaper car.
So, what should I do then, how should I make the corsa be faster upwards from Bergwerk (@ Nürburgring). Dbilas promises something like 22hp gain from their inlet, but that's not so much....
But I was really hoping to be able to fit the turbo that I have bought, recently refurbished.
Can anyone help me?
