1.0 12v engine swap with 1.7/1.9 Turbo diesel?

Post by bigbadboy »

Ladies and Gents;

Hi, I'm kinda new to all this, but basically i'm currently driving a very basic 1.0 12v Corsa B (which i love) and was wondering about potentially doing an engine swap as the power is just shocking. Ive had a look on various site about C20 LET/8 and 12v petrol engines, but nothing about diesel turbos. Thought I'd do something a bit different...im sure it probably has been done before. Looking at like a 1.9 CDTI or 1.7, maybe even 2 litre...

But was wondering about which particular engine and costs/problems that may occur, how hard it is and wether its worth it etc. etc. Weight going to be a problem?

**Just to save any hasstle, unlike previous tossers on threads like this I WILL BE DOING THE BRAKES AND SUSPENSION UPGRADES, aswell as telling insurance/ DVLA etc. **

Thank you.

CONVERTING TO DIESEL WILL PROB COST JUST AS MUCH AS PUTTING A NIPPY PETROL ENGINE IN. LOT MORE POWER THEN A TD + YOU CAN PUT MORE MODS ON IT. (WELL EXHAUST SOUNDS BETTER ON A PETROL, ECT) CHEERS :meh:
KEEP THE FILLER AWAY FROM GSI'S

Im not interested in petrol, otherwise yes obviously i'd of bought a 1.4 sri/sport with 90 horsepower. But i want the torque and decnt mpg figures that will batter petrol cars all day long...
