and do you tell the insurance or not ??

basically if u get caught with a lowered car most insurers will cancel ur policy. simple. its up 2 you whether you wanna run that risk. i know people with lowered cars who have never got caught and i know people who have. its up 2 you
and yeh a 40 or 60 drop will be fine on 14s but if you go 60 make sure ur 14s are a vauxhall make with an offset of between et45-49 to prevent rubbing

my corsa on coilovers lowered about 115mm-120mm with 185/50/14 yokohama a539's akk round never been questioned when pulled by traffic cops only thing they asked was my standard corsa sport exhaust aftermarket xD

Im looking at lowering mine and was just wondering if just springs will be good enough any advise ?

depends how low m8. the general opinion is that 40mm will be okay on standard shocks but anything over that and the car will bounce a lot and wear thru its shocks pretty quickly. if u have the money always get the full suspension set
