CORSA SPORT 1.6, First car/project. Need some advice!

Post by Mr_Joey_Monster1 »

Now then.
Im new to this site...new to corsa in general.
I got myself a '99 Corsa sport about 2 months ago. Its been sat in the garage doing nack all as its not exactly road legal.
Iv got biiiig plans for it. Im not gonna chav the poor thing up.
It needs a lot of work to get it up to scratch with you guys on here.
But im sure i can do it with a few words of advice.
Firstly i will make a confession.
When i got the car, i took it for a quick test drive around the block (out in the country)
Sadly and stupidly, i didnt check that the bonnet was full closed after having to charge the battery.
You can probably guess what happened.
There for i need to get hold of a new bonnet, windscreen, wipers and the plastic bit that goes underneath the windscreen.

It has had a few mods, but not enough for what im going for.

What im planning for it issssss:

Vectra/Calibra leather seats (which are better?)
New bonnet (spray black)
Maybe a full repray, a really dark grey/black.
A good old 2.0 redtop. But this isnt now were near the top of the "to do" list.
New side skirts and front bumper.
Finish replacing handbrake/rear brakes.
Spray the chipped alloys. I have no clue what model they are. Im sure with pics you can tell me.
Fit the new parcel shelf speaker box iv started making.
White plastic interior bits.
Debadge the whole thing.
New badgeless grill.
Raise the suspension. Its too damn low for everyday use. Plus the ride is shockingly hard.

Thats quite a list iv accumulated there. A few more jobs ontop of that, mainly nit picking.

I will get some pics uploaded as soon as i can figure out how to do so.
Thanks for the read. Any comments are much apreciated. Laters

hey mate welcome to the site. upload your pics to photobucket and then copy and paste the IMG code in to your post.

you said it was your first car? how old are you?
OFFICAL DVLA DATA:
1414 - corsa gsi's on the road in 2008.
735 - corsa gsi's currently on the road and 436 SORN
Basicly you would have to be a right tw*t to break one for parts

Thanks to everyone for an awsome weekend at pvs!

Cheers man.
I must agree with you there.
Its how i baught the car.

Im going to spray the wheels, the opposite of what it already is.
Black with silver.
The skirts are cracked in places, so il either replace them or get rid all together.
I just want something real subtle.

Gonna get started this weekend.

Just a quick update.
Today I went to a local scrap dealers and got myself a bonnet.
Yeah its a different colour, slightly...... Orange, but it doesnt matter, it does its job.
I just need to adjust the bonnet arms slightly as one of them is really lose due to my little accident.

I also fitted the scuttle panel which i got from Matty101, thanks alot for that, and some new wipers.

Its actually starting to look like a car again now.
If anyone knows were i can get some calibra leather seats from, give me a shout.
The bracket on my drivers seat has completetly broke off, so its a good enough reason to get a new interior.
