Post by seanseansean »

I was driving to work this morning and I hit a pot hole.
As it was quite early I had my lights on, after hitting the pot hole the dash light now don't work at all.

So now I cant see my speedo when its dark. can anyone help?

Okay thanks.

How do I remove the dash to see any loose connections?

Carefully! Working on the dash is a total nightmate! Top tips here is any tool you use on the plastic to grip or lever wrap it in tape or a cloth first. It stops you scratching or marking the plastic - I wish I had!

The haynes manual has a good strip down in it - although if you has removing the air vents do it carefully as its easy to snap the tabs and then they flop around freely when you put them back in... annoying if it happens!

You should try and reach as many connectors as possible, under the dash, it could be a bad connection on one of these, before you try stripping out speedo etc. Also remove the glove box and have a search for connectors there as well. You just might get lucky, and save yourself a lot of bother and yards of skin!

Okay took out the speedo/rev/ petrol ect and all looked fine.

Witch fuse should i check and if it was the fuses, also if it was the fuse wouldn't the whole thing not work?

Where should i check for loose connections and what should i look for? or any certain wires?

Its on the lights on the speedo/rev/petrol dash, the speedo and everything works fine. just wont light up.
