Ok hopefully someone can give me a quick answer
When lining up the timing in my corsa (could be the same for other models) c14se
I have a timing mark on the top of the cam cover, a notch on the cam gear and a block of no teeth on the crank, is this all right?
Thanks

Re: Timing
Flooded with responses! :p
Ok so got the timing done, the engine is running though theres a large clicking sound from the engine cover and the whole car shakes on idle and rev. Im sure this is a bent valve which isnt a big deal for me yet, but does this explain the pulsing too?

Re: Timing
If you suspect that it is a bent valve, then you should not run the engine again, until you have taken the head off and inspected it. Did the timing belt fail on the car, or did you perhaps set the timing wrongly the first time, and is this why you suspect a bent valve? Your car will shake if there is a bad misfire in any of the cylinders, especially when you rev it up.
It may be that you are a tooth or two out with the timing, this could cause the misfire, and shaking as well.
