HELP Please

Hey Peeps,

I have put a cigarette lighter in my car, to use to charge my phone. I have it hard wired to the batter. the Live wire has an inline 15amp fuse and it is then earthed back to the battery. When I push the lighter in it heats up like it should do. but everytime I put a phone charger or plug any kind of adaptor into it it burns the adaptor out (starts smoking and nasty burning smell - good job didn't have phone plugged in when tested it.). This has happend on 3 Iphone charges now

can you please help/give suggestions.

take it to a garage to get it done and theyl run it through the fusebox, my brother in law got his done for a tener.

I'll make some enquiries as it'd doing my head in lol. Don't wanna light a cigi, just wanna be able to charge my phone.

you might have it wired up the wrong way round, try connecting the wires up the other way round as lighter will work either way but chargers will only work if wired the right way.
