right people. i have got a 2000 corsa sport. when i finished work earlier i started car took handbreak off but the breaks was still on, my cable feels really loose when i pull the handbreak up. i started to move the car slowly and the break came off a little. it still feels like its on a slight bit though. could this be frozen or something with the weather? but it has felt like the handbrake cable could do with tightening up? what you people think? and how would i tighten the cable?
p.s, my brake light comes on aswell sometimes on the dash because it feels loose and the handle comes up a little?
handbreak.

Re: handbreak.
i can bring my handbrake up three clicks an naff all happens, just needs tightening, i'm not entirely sure how to do it, there is a small bolt somewhere i think that you tighten and, well, it tightens the handbrake, the bolt with either be beneath the car, just follow the handbrake cable from your rear wheels to where ever it goes, or check your handbrake, apparantly if it has a gaiter than can be lifted off there might be a bolt there, but don't hold me to that, best bet is to get the haynes manual out.

Re: handbreak.
you tighten handbrake under car i have a corsa b 1995 and the bolt i need to tighten to do mine is under like at shield to tighten in MAKE SURE HANDBRAKE IS OFF put some wood i front of wheels or leave in gear then get underneath it should be split in to 3 sections if you follow cable from back end from wheels go to first split find the nut and tighten it if you dont take handbrake off before hand you may snap the cable hope this helps.
If in doubt, flat out
