oil pressure switch
hey can somone help i need to change my oil pressure switch i think i know where it is as i went to change it at last oil change but the shop gave me wrong one either that or i took wrong one off lol. anyway accordin to haynes you gotta jack up to get to the switch and its meant to be on oil pump. but iv heard other people say its on top of engine and you can get at it that?anyone got any pics of it or can tell me whats right!thanks cars a 1,4 98 corsa b capital

think you've miss understood the haynes manual mate, the oil pump is at the bottom of the engine the oil pressure switch is right on the top of the engine. dont just change it for the hell of it, its not one of them things thats needs to be done with a service, only when its leaking etc. and im guessing if you dont know where it is its probly fine.
yours will hav a wire going to it, ine was disconnected when that pic was taken

Basicly you would have to be a right tw*t to break one for parts

thanks mate big help that:) il give it a good look before i do owt but after a long drive and i come to idle the pressure light starts to flicker on n off. so im hoping switch rather than pump. heard the switch is a common problem. thanks again buddy:)

yea ín that case it might be the switch, as we had same problem on my sisters corsa c, but that was leaking also, but after we replaced it we never had a problem

Ditto here- flickering switch (hefty oil leak as well), new switch for £5 and all's perfect!
