over fueling

Post by nath2905 »

for a couple of week now every time i start the car up it judders like its miss firing,
i just thought it was because it was cold,
now i put 20 quid in it and i got 70miles off it :/ (its a 1.2 8v btw)
to night i've bin see me uncle had the oil changed and plug done because it was time and thought the plugs were causing this,
then my uncle sed that its over fueling, and chocking the engine,
it runs fine once your on a little run but you come to traffic and it does it again

any ideas would be great thanks

need it fixin its costin a bomb run a 1.2 :o

i was having the same problem, try changing the lambda sensor and make sure the timing is correct, and have you changed the cambelt last couple of days and got a tooth slightly out? and make sure its not just the engine, take a trip underneath and have a smell around the tank, i found mine to smell quite a bit and there must have been a leak but could never find one... but in the end i bought a new corsa the arden blue one i have now. but i was sticking £20 in and doing about 100 miles to a tank.

change the coolant temp sensor as thats causing the problem ,when its cocks up it tells the ecu the engine temperature is about minus 30 and adjusts the fuelling to suit ahd just pour petrol in .not ideal for fuel economy :)

My 1.2L 8V was doing that too and when I stop at traffic sometimes it switches off and I can smell petrol... It come out to be coming from the cone filter...as the small vacuum pipe that goes to the airbox and controls the flap was not connected anymore ( airbox replaced by cone filter) therefore the choke was all the time on... the fuel gauge was going low too fast lol
