What tools do you need and how do you go about the horn button wiring? my guess is that the wire has to be split or something, given that there are 2 buttons on the 3 spoke but only 1 central button on the 2 spoke.

My 2 spoke wheel isn't quite centred either so it'd give me a good excuse to sort that if I changed the wheel over!

Cheers.
harvey bugger off i took photos and gone into more depth :L

u r very lucky that wen i read this i was up at the workshop and so cud take some pics of the steering wheel apart

yes mine was the normal bog standard 2 spoke wheel with the horn as the big centre cap.

to get the steering wheel off i undid the nut and left on a few threads so that the nut wouldnt come off. for the 1st 10 minutes i put my seat back and my feet either side of the clocks by the air vents and tugged like f**k on the wheel.

then that gave me a headache so thought ahhh i no ill use dads hydraulic pullers

so i got them out and put the 2 prongs behind the steering wheel on the circular rubber bit around the back of the wheel nearest the key and immobiliser etc

it ripped the rubber slightly but it popped it off a treat

then with the new steering wheel i pushed the steering wheel onon the right splines. then with the wiring i totally got rid of the earth wire coming from behind the dash somewhere. cant quite rmemeber

then with the red positive wire i scotch locked it onto the white and brown wire and then taped it up where the old joiner/connector was at the end of the red wire.
Image

then with the earth/neutral wire i made myself a bit of wire with a circular connector on the end big enough to go over the shaft of the steering rack where the nut tightens on and scotch locked the other end onto the solid brown wire on the steering wheel
Image

then i tightened the nut up with the connector just behind it and voila :D
Image

the nut is 22mm and the torx screws on the back of the new steering wheel which hold the airbag bit on r T30

cheers
dunc
hi what did you do about the airbag and airbag wire as im in the process of doing this i have a standard 2 spoke wheel and want the 3 spoke airbag one like you have done.is your airbag wired up i have been reading up about it and all i can find is ppl saying i shouldent do this for all sorts of reasons.!!!

well if your car is like mine and doesnt have an airbag module then there are no wires to connet the air bag to and so in theory the airbag wont go off because there is no power going to it for it to inflate.

there isnt an airbag wire on the steering wheel itself because its plug and play with the plug actually part of the airbag box in the steering wheel

Hi I just bought a corsa the same colour as yours (5 door though), just joined this website and decided to have a nose through this thread.. wow your car looks great!! Just wondered if you could give me any tips and ideas on where to start on mine, as compared to yours it looks .. wel crap at the moment!! I have limited funds, and I'm a girl that hasn't got much clue about how to do things (yet!) I really fancy colour coding my mirrors and door handles etc, as that seems to make a big difference, also my speakers don't work very well at the moment so thats something I fancy working on, and the wheel trims need sorting out but I can't really afford alloys at the minute. Any ideas?
Hope you don't mind me popping by and askingf a million and one questions! :)

hey

put 3 or 4 layers of tint spray on them and covered the reflective strip with masking tape

no laquer on them though

normal bulbs and an mot pass :D

as for cheap mods, clock and dash bulbs are an easy start, then maybe a bit of noise from the exhaust with a diff backbox but thats really all i can say for cheap simple mods although the exhaust isnt really that simple if your not mechanically minded

as some of you know, the gree goddess damaged her limb 2 months ago

a mate of mine left the pub early from a yfc event and she slid on a corner and crashed into the barrier at 25mph

i went down to see if she was ok and at 15mph i slid on the same off camber, muddy, wet on a bank corner and hit the same bit of barrier

i came off worse, denting the one alloy bad, scratching the rear alloy, bending a coilover strut, breaking an angel eye, denting the wing and queaking the rear quarter enough to make the tyre rub on the arch which didnt happen before and breaking the bumper

enjoy the pics :/

anyways, got the ol girl home, queaked the chassis out a bit, put some 40mm for now suspension on, bought a wing and sprayed it myself with rattle cans and put original headlights in and the old bumper back on. had the tracking done but the steering rack is for sure bent. took it to a garage and they told me the chassis leg is bent and twisted and will need jigging etc. not worth it though in all fairness

drove it around for couple of weeks

then i bought this :)

corsa b 1.2 club 16v

w reg 80000 ish miles

straight through centre section already in place, tinted windows all round except windscreen which had sunstrip, lexus rear lights, black spoiler, 2 1000w vibe subs corsa c alloys

£700

so far all iv done is swap cd player for the old one out of the green one, swapped rear lights for my tinted ones, old backbox off green car and k&n panel filter with drilled airbox swapped over

and so far thats it :)

tints were planned for the green one tbh and colour coded bumpers :/ alloys were lush mate, every1 said so and most say the corsa c alloys look crap on this silver one. clash of colours i think tbh

green one is most of the way back to standard and going in a car auction :)

Ahhh, the poor little greeney. Did come off a bit badly though! New one looks quite smart- are you changing the Corsa C wheels if you're not that keen?
