Doing up a Corsa 1995 LS 1.4 Auto (5-Doors)

Post by DaKingPin »

Hello !

I would be grateful if anyone can help with my query.

I just bought a corsa off a lady (for £10.00 !). The car had a minor crash (driver headlamp and grill broken). I also know the engine needs to cleaned and serviced.

I just love the cute car and i am hoping to do-it-up then use it to bear some of the high milage i do to work.

I would like advice on :

1,Vauxhall mechanics in bristol.
2,How much approximately is it likely to cost me to bring it up to very good condition ( the car still drives)
3,Recommended options to add to make it look cool

Thanks in advance

Pics would help really but if its only a broken headlight and grill it wont cost much to fix unless you get upgraded parts to which you would fixx the car and make it look cool at same time :).
If in doubt, flat out

right first things first get some pics up so we can see what kind of condition its in, as for mechanics corsa's are really simple to work on and you'll probly be supprised how much of the work your can do yourself, and there's always plenty people on here willing to offer advice.

parts are also piss easy to find, theres plenty of corsa's in laying in scrapyards and if your crafty u'll probly find you'll be able to pinch alot of what you need

get some pics up!
OFFICAL DVLA DATA:

735 - corsa gsi's currently on the road and 436 SORN
Basicly you would have to be a right tw*t to break one for parts

Thanks to everyone for an awsome weekend at pvs!

Thanks once again matt.

The mobile mechanic that sorted this out charged me a total of £250 for fitting a new headlamps, bumper, oil change and oil filter change.

@Pricer
That would have been a bargain ! I did not really mean to pay £250 for the work.....I was at work when the mechanic came to assess the car in the presence of my spouse. He later spoke to me on the phone and quoted me £200( for headlamp, bumper, service and headgasket change). then said the max i would spend is £220. Then he took the car keys away !

Anyway, he turned up today, saw a Chrysler 300c, Luxury pack on my drive and decided to jack up the bill by £30. He eventually did not do the servicing (only did oil and oil filter change, then cleaned the oil leak.)

I felt really disappointed that he distrustfull extorted money from me......but i dont mind ! I love this little cute corsa

@ Matt101......Yes ! i still have plans for the cute car. The next moves will be :

- To get 14'' alloys plus 185 tyres
- Tint the rear and passenger windows
- Later add Angel headlamps and lexus rearlamps when ive saved enough
- Tune the engine if possible
- Fit a Radio/CD player

This will be over a course of 6 months.

I will keep posting the pictures on this site.

ANY MORE ADVICE WOULD BE WELCOME !!!!!!!!!
