A few little problems. Need some Advice.

Post by henz »

Hi,

Last Oct I bought a corsa Sri 1.4. Absolutelty loved it but have been having a few problems recently. i have no idea where to start so i thought i should just list the symptoms to see if anyone can give me a hand.

Firstly, the speedometer, odometer and Fuel guage has stopped working completely.
Secondly, the idle can be eratic. I range from about 2k to about 4k on an unlcky day.
Thirdly, the engine is very hestitant when i accelerate and sometimes stalls for no reason when the clutch isn't even engaged.

I've spoken to my housemate and thinks theres a problem with the ECU and the air-flow.

Any help would be greatky appreciated,

cheers, Henz

firstly the problem with your clocks could be a fuse or your clocks cud have packed in. firstly check all your fuses and if thats not the problem go to a scrapyard and get a set of clocks and try them.

your idle problem, stalling problem and hesitating problem sound to me like your idle air control valve cud be O_o. if you check the FAQ theres a guide to cleaning it, if that doesnt solve it then get a one from a scrapyard, brand new from vauxhall there about £90+ so its loads cheaper to go to a scappy and pinch one.
OFFICAL DVLA DATA:
1414 - corsa gsi's on the road in 2008.
735 - corsa gsi's currently on the road and 436 SORN
Basicly you would have to be a right tw*t to break one for parts

Thanks to everyone for an awsome weekend at pvs!

Matty is right - check ur fuses! I had no speedo, ciggie lighter or reverse lights, and a stalling prob. They were all fixed when I changed a blown 20amp fuse (number 18 i think!!). I reckon the lighter had jammed on and fried it....

BTW, I got a new IACV for £19 inc p+p from AAHMotorsport of off eBay... :D
