1.2 8v problum

Post by FrazerSmith »

hi all have a wee 1.2 8v corsa it was going fine then stared to loose power. so pulled over and it is running very rough and wont rev up but if you put ur hand over the airfilter inlet and rev it will let the revs cum up. then if you take ur hand of dies out like to much air is killing it and its making a strange wisling noise that it didnt before any ideas?

I believe this could be a mass air flow problem.. if your car has one, im sure they do. Could be the MAF itself or it could just be a sensor. If its the sensor then i think theyre pretty cheap to buy, and it just means that the ECU is not controlling the amount of air that is entering your engine and its taking in to much. If its the MAF itself then im not sure what these cost. But i dont think they will empty your bank account.

OFFICAL DVLA DATA:
1414 - corsa gsi's on the road in 2008.
735 - corsa gsi's currently on the road and 436 SORN
Basicly you would have to be a right tw*t to break one for parts

Thanks to everyone for an awsome weekend at pvs!
