Hi everyone, I'm really in need of some help! My car, a 1994 M Reg Vauxhall Corsa GLS 5dr Auto 1.4 Petrol, on the dash panel, there is an orange flashing (S) button. When this orange (S) is flashing, it won't allow the car to pull away normally, it goes really slow. Some times I turn the car off and it will be fine and off I go, but sometimes I can turn it on and off for a number of times before it will clear.
When I start the car, its fine then as soon as I move the gear lever from the Park to any gear, is when it will start to flash the (S) light.
Has anyone else experienced this problem or have any ideas what the problem is? Thank you.

used to have exactly the same fault on an auto corsa i had . the light in question is the snow mode light there is a button near the gearlever on an auto .the idea of this is to restrict the gearbox for icy or snow conditions thisallows the gearbox to start in third instead of first allowing more torque and less wheel spin ,obviously the fault you have is the car is selecting this function without pressing the button and the usual cause is either a faulty switch or more likely oil or water in the gearbox multi plug on the top of the gearbox as its virtually underneath the coolant header tank .the fault has nothing to do with the engine ecu as the gearbox is controlled by its own ecu under the carpet on the drivers side tunnel .to pinpoint the fault you really need to get the gearbox ecu read by someone with access to tech 1 the correct diagnostic tool for the age of your car
