Help please Losing water

Post by johnboyc »

Hi I am New here so hopefully someone might be able to help me
I had an R reg Corsa given to me it had loads of mayo under the
Oil cap and needed the Brakes bleeding anyway I bled the brakes they are
fine so I did the headgasket put a new one no gasket paste (should I have
put some on)put the car through its MOT passed No problem went for a drive got
about 7-8 mile it started to overheat I took the cap off the tank he water
tank Glug glug it must have been an airlock now its great runs spot but I checked
the water 3 days it needed about 1 and half litres then checked again today it needed
about the same amount of water I have checked the Oil cap a little bit of Mayo on it
but when I first started car up after the headgasket got changed a couple of
tiny droplets of water was there so I assume its condensation but does anyone
have any ideas as to where my water could be going??????
Its a i.2 8v
Also it has only done 66000 miles and been stood in garage for 18 month

urr i dont know, you sure you havent got a leak somewhere, check for leaking water, but try giving the head gasket another re-tighten down, and then just check for water leaks on pipes and stuff.
