hi i have a corsa b 1.4 sports but it has a 1.2 8v engine i went out in the car only done about 4 miles and its over heating i let it cool down then returned home b4 i got home i noticed it was running hot again could somone give me an idea on what to check please

are you sure the fan is working? and the thermostat is working and not sticking shut. other than that i cant see alot else to be honest.

there's your problem then.. hook the fan up to a battery and see if it spins. if it does then my guess is your thermostat is stuck shut.

hi there mate if your stat has stuck shut you wont have any coolant going into rad hence why the fan aint working it operates through a temprature controlled switch that plugs into your rad and comes on when coolant reaches around 100c. let your engine tick over and keep your hand over the black hose coming from engine and connecting to rad if it does not get warm your stat is jammed shut:(

hi the hoses coming from the rad are presurizing but no water in there the rad is not getting hot even when the engine is over heating

i had the same problem i wired the fan upto a switch so i can turn the fan on when it gets to temp to stop it overheating
