Corsa b 1.0 Engine Swap

Post by Sanandreas21 »

I have bought an engine off ebay and it seems to be alright, just need t put it in, But one thing i have noticed is that on the engine i have in my car it has an extra piece near where the exhaust manifold is, Like a cylinder with a wire coming out of it, (not the oil filter)

Any idea what this is and if i should put it off the old engine onto the new one.

Thanks

urrr take a photo of your old engine with it on, and your new engine where it should be, so we know what your on about, i think your talking about the lambda sensor but take a photo for us to make sure.

yea you will, if you look a bit better 2moro, you should find on your engine a flange above that sensor, and that flange is the flange you see on your new engine, where that sensor is connected to is the cat, which you dont seem to have with your new engine you bought. so yes you will need to swap it over,

well it shouldnt be, but if it looks as tho it doesnt come off then you might aswell just swap the whole manifold over, wont be hard just take it steady when you take the nuts off.
