Ripspeed Air Filter

Help!!!! what i doing wrong, got filter and replaced old airbox, connected to original black flexi piping and started engine, disappointed with result my 1.2 sounded only minimum difference in exhaust sound when revved up, what i missing

thats it, thats all they do you will just get a bit more of an induction roar thats all they do really.

there should be a bit more of a soft woof once u accelerate and on high revs they make your car sound awesome like freeflow exhaust setup but this is only the start!

Ummm ok i guess, just on others on youtube, they sound more different than mine dose, anyways may get new backbox in near future so that be better then.

baiscly these filters allow for better filtered air into the engine which in return gives u 1% power increase if u have a REALLY good n expensive setup like typhoon by BMC and the likes you will notice it allot more however also depends on engine size ofcourse! and take out the toilet roll and install some bonnet vents just above the filter for more air! and if done well it will look good too

Yes i c, tryed without toilet roll in and made no difference and yes again to if better set up that costs more oviously it would be better,would expect it to be. As it is just 1% power difference and also it drink more fuel, umm well, i recently changed it back and drilled my air box, read that can make it sound better but still only slightly different again i'm seeing.

Anyways thanks for info and help lads, all enlightens me more as this my 1st car, so quite new to world of modifying

been there done that mate! im only on my 2nd car now and my first car i made some bad choices towards modding! but i had 1.4 8v so i had a bit more to play with! now i got 1.0 12v and im strugglin at some points i cant really go much bigger engine insurance will absolutely nail me and cant really add much performance to this one although ive found T2 turbos that are made for engines .8l and up! so one day when im happy and still driving a 1.0 il go turbo

yea, get where your coming from, insurance killing me, so can only do small changes to car, until it goes down, it will go down won't it, if i careful driver
Glad i've got 1.2 16v with extra power, my sis has chinquchento now thats slow, more like riding in a go kart than car

bare in mind my 1st car i had in SOuthAfrica, u dont need insurance there

im already forking out £762.95 a year for comp insurance!

i had n air filter on my 1.2 but took it of because my car was losing power because the filter was on for a while and was possibly blocked up so i put the standed airbox back on and it sorted it but even with just the back box i have got on thats fairly loud so no need for filter really just buy a performance back box would be thae best way mate

Yea i think i will go for new backbox, just need to save the cash for it

youd be better off taking it off and putting old airbox on but derestricting it and drilling it only on front and right side. and make sure you dont drill to where the airfilter sits if you get me. and also get a green panel airfilter i think there called.

I have an Apiro Forced Inductin kit on mine with a cat-back stainless system. I clean my filter out every 3 months or so. Keeps the car performing perfectly. Never had any problems.

The kit has everything you need to mount the filter and plenty of flexible induction hose with mounting plate on the end so you can get it low down to get the nice cold air!
