Failed MOT

had an MOT today, it failed, problems where:

nearside headlight loose - fixed it
offside rear bearings loose - fixed it
rear number plate light inoperative - fixed it
nearside front tyre facing the wrong direction
offside rear tyre facing the wrong direction

i cant seem to sort the last 2, i got the alloys from halfords 2 wheels are offset 35 and 2 are offset 42, i thought the offset 35 went on the front ad the 42 went on the back, but if i do this, 2 of the tyres are facing the wrong direction, and if i swap em around so that they are all facing the right direction, that will mean that one side of the car has got one offset and the other side of the car has got another offset, went to halfords today to ask em why n there was no specialist in to sort it GRRRR

Could it be that they have put 2 of the tyres on the alloys the wrong way round?

all halfords wheels are got from motorsport in manchester

what wheels are they

they are fox evo 6\'s

did the store give you any reason why they are diffeent offset?

personly i get them changed to all the same offset
how old are they?
you can only change em if within 28 days

ermm i got em in the middle of march, problem is one of em is slightly scratched, they didint say anything about the offset, they jus give me 2 wheels with red spiggots and 2 wheels with black spiggots, they said they will ony fit on 1 way so they are easy to fit

diff spigotts are they multi stud>? ie 2 sets of 4 holes?

id go to them and et them to contact motorsport in manchester and tell em its failed mot cos of it make sure they sort it

dont think you shud have diff spigots?

if its failed mot there wrong for the car

if no joy phone halfords customer service and get them to sort you out

could just be you need a full set of specific spiggots for your car
normally there all the same colour

i could be wrong but im sure they shud all be the same ofset

its wierd tho, if i have 2 wheels on the front in the same offset, one of the tyres rotation is facing backwards the only way i can get round it is if a have 2 wheels of the same offset on the same side of the car, so for example, on the right hand side i have 2 wheels that are offset 35, and on the left hand side i have 2 wheels that are offet 42, its blagging my head

you have to have same on same axel
like
et 35 on back
et 42 on front

have you got your steels? bash em on and get the mot sorted
id get a full set of wheels et42 or as close to et49
is yours a corsa b>?

yeah its a corsa b, if i have ET 42 on the front, the tyre on the passenger side facing the wrong rotation direction, stupid people lol

get em to get you the rightoffset ie et42 all round and with the tyres facing the right way,

motorsprt i hear can be arsey about taking wheels back but its there f**k up so they need to sort it

just go into the store tell em whats wrong and its failed mot cos of it
and you want the right wheels for your car

dont kick off on them be nice an polite theyll try and help you out
if you go in an kick off theyll get pissed off

they may want to take them wheels and get em sent back and get you the right ones

might just be a case of the spiggots
see what they say

will do, thanks for your help mate, i wont kick off, unless they dont bother listening to me lol, went in today at half 7,twas a bit late really but i only jus found out, she was a bit of a bitch wiv me n told me to come bk 2moro lol, thanks again m8
