Post by ste2425 »

Hi guys new on here.

Was changing my shoes yesterday and very nearly finished when i realised theres was a slight problem.

My old shoes have the pin that is circled, whilst my new ones dont. Its to properly mount the auto adjuster things.

My question is how do i swap it over to the new shoes? and if i cannot what is it called so i can buy it and fit it to my new shoes.

The haynes says it needs to be swapped but doesnt say how.

Thanks guys

stephen

Oh and its a 1.0l 3door expression. 2000 year.

should just come out with pliers mate or just try everything you can lol. if you go to buy a new one go to vauxhall and theyll tell you what it is cause most motor factors wont stock them

could i just rivet the lever thing onto that hole? make it so that it can still move, then put the main spring that goes right across into the hole thats arrowed?

You usually get a new clip in the shoe kit but it may have not been in your kit, you push the pin out and transfer to the new shoes and place the new clip on.

To get the pin out, put some WD40 onit, and push the pin with force, in the direction to the 'feet' on the clip, the pin itself is springy so when it comes out it will be slighty larger then the hole, hence why it has a shamfer on the ends so when pushing back on, it will force in.

You will be able to get the clip from most motor factors.
