Dashboard Fog Light Coming On When In Reverse

I'm in no way mechanically minded but this sounds like a small problem to fix but donno what the cause is.

Basically when I put the car in reverse the fog light indicator on the dash comes half on, by the I mean like dim - not as bright as if I were to actually turn the fog lights on. Anyone know if this is a common problem or what it might be so I can fix it?
