Re: '96 Corsa Sport
Well...
Got it home fine on Tuesday - it's DEFINITELY an improvement on the 1400!
Bit of a pain though, but the engine wasn't supplied with an AFM, so I bought one on Monday and when fitted it was causing some lumpy, uneven idling, and backfiring upon revving the engine...
And, the unit that was whacked on for me temporarily is registering a fault on the ECU (though it runs, and runs much better than with the other one), so we left that one in and as a result, I was experiencing some misfiring on the drive back at various different loads on the throttle - but, hopefully a decent unit will cure this - or some wiring mods that have been done successfully by others!
But, when I had it in the spots where it accelerated smoothly, I was impressed - even at up to half throttle (full was 99% of the time making it miss) I can notice a significant difference in how well this pulls...
So far, happy chappy!

Went to watch a local rally on Saturday - ended up at Bournemouth Airport too
Still playing up and misfiring intermittently and when under load, even with the AFM Earth Mod and another AFM - I found that nothing changed when the AFM was disconnected or not, so pretty sure it is the cause of the issues, so will be getting a new new one to try

Re: '96 Corsa Sport
looking good mate, fingers crossed it get sorted and running properly
OFFICAL DVLA DATA:
1414 - corsa gsi's on the road in 2008.
735 - corsa gsi's currently on the road and 436 SORN
Basicly you would have to be a right tw*t to break one for parts
Thanks to everyone for an awsome weekend at pvs!

Re: '96 Corsa Sport
Flashed the codes yesterday - paperclip trick worked!
P0100 Mass or volume air flow circuit high input C-10
P0100 Mass or volume air flow circuit low input C-10
P0110 Intake Air Temperature Circuit High Input C-12
P0110 Intake Air Temperature Circuit Low Input C-12
P0443 Evaporative emission control system purge control valve circuit open C-28
P0500 Vehicle speed sensor malfunction B-10
Engine was off - so think the P0500 will be due to that, and I know the P0443 one is because I don't have a Purge Solenoid fitted to the plug yet
But the P0100 & P0110 are both related to the AFM I believe, so pretty confident that it's that causing the issues.
Also yesterday I did these;
- Removed, cleaned and Blanked the EGR
- Removed and cleaned the Coolant Temp Sensor
- Re-Covered the CTS Cabling due to damaged conduit
- Reset the FPR to around 55 psi/circa 3.8 Bar (it was at 45-50 psi/circa 3.1-3.4 Bar)
Then today I went out shopping...
And now it is FIXED!
A spanking new AFM from Vauxhall today saw to that, and I also got a Fuel Tank Vent Valve Solenoid to clear the related ECU Code
Left the battery disconnected for a couple of hours, then started it up and the light was on, but shortly went out and has been fine since
Drove up to sort some stuff out with a mate (Saloon on here), and also had him use an ECU Scanner to check it over - all codes cleared and not returning - all looking good.
Drove home with no issues either, so VERY happy to have it finally sorted
Now to get the Clutch done, the release bearing will poo itself very soon! It's whining like a proper bitch!

Re: '96 Corsa Sport
Busy day today. But, very productive!
Fitted the new Induction Kit - needs a little more tweaking and the Inner Morette duct sorting - will be very soon!
Then, with my regular assistant, took some bits off and got the cheese-wire out.
Mounted the windows and drilled the bolt holes, then painted the steel that was exposed by the removal of the windows;
And then fitted the windows using the sealer I bought with them, bolted them all in tight, and tidied up the edges (even bead of Sealer etc to tidy it up)
Then, got more pics on my way home;
Then took it home, parked it up, whipped the Cover on it and thats how it'll stay until the Clutch is done, then it needs a fecking good clean prior to Combe in 3 weeks time.

Re: '96 Corsa Sport
Another productive weekend so far...
Stopped off at Merlin Motorsport at Castle Combe yesterday on my way home from the dirty North to pick up some Ducting Inlets - also got the optional mesh inserts, as wasn't sure if I wanted to use them or not - got home and removed the Morette casings to play with and taped the 2 options to them to see;
Decided the mesh stuff was a bit too thick for my liking really - in the way of the thickness of the wire/material
Then, today got on with things - started off simple, with the replacement of the VxON Club stickers on the Windows - after a major cleaning session to remove the film of grime on them from fitting;
Then, decided to tidy up the Engine bay a little by painting the Exhaust Manifold in VHT Black;
Then, as i was annoyed by seeing the White through the Grille, decided to paint a portion of the Slam Panel - thinking I may as well have done all of it now, but meh;
Then started with the Morette Vents;
Primed;
After a couple of coats of primer, moved onto the first coat of colour;
Couple of coats of that and some Lacquer later;
Then, mounted to the Casings - thought I took a pic of the insides, but seemingly didn't - used glue on the mating edge to the Casing, then used a Sealer/Adhesive in 3 blobs where the casing profile met the duct on the inside;
All fitted;
Functional too! Well, the passenger side is partially functional, it ducts air, but to nowhere really... haha
And all of this was ever so exciting, even my Cat got wood;
Also, ordered a few more Stickers, for advertising ACW Motorsport Plastics (who supplied the Polycarbs), and also a large VxON URL one for the rear screen, and also going to get some replacement Corsasport ones too
If the weather is like this tomorrow too, I am likely to repaint the Rear Brace, and also do the Rear ARB Orange too, seeing as I have 1.5 Cans of it left...
Then, Clutch.

Weekend shenanigans...
Resulting in;
Strut Brace recoated and refitted;
Rear ARB recoated and refitted;
Rear wiper removed and grommeted;
Needs some attention - will get that rubbed back, treated and filled permanently at some point (some of the visible brown is dirt in the pic! haha) ;
And this at the front...
