Hello ,
Just wanted some guide with the radiator fan.
My radiator fan suddenly stopped working causing the car to overheat in traffic. Is there anyway i could troubleshoot before visiting the garage ?
Any ideas ?

The coolant level is full. usually, when the temp is approaching 85 - 90 degrees, I can hear the fan kick-in......but this doesnt happen anymore. In traffic , the temp gets close to a 100 degrees and I just have to pull over.
Anyway, i guess the fan may be burnt...

Check your haynes manual. Corsa B fan kicks in at 100 degrees. Normal running temperature is between 85 and 93.
If it goes any higher than 105 without kicking in then there is a problem.
If your fan was kicking in at 85-90 before, then your temp gauge was most likely reading low.

chech your thermostat they get blocked easiy, if its blockd it wnt open so the coolent wnt get round to radiater and fan wnt kick in

I had the same problem as you and it seemed to be the fan switch that was causing it to overheat in traffic. The fan switch is located on the side of the radiator, it will have a connector coming out of it.
A way to test the fan would be to remove it from the engine and connect two cables to the battery, positive and negative and then put the negative cable on one of the connector pins on the site of the fan (Should be easy to find, it's the only electrical connector on there) and then 'bump it with the positive cable and it should start to spin. Remember always wear rubber gloves while doing this as you don't want to be shocked.
If it does not spin then you might have done it wrong or the fan is actually stopped functioning.
Anyway, good luck.
