Changing interior envoy to sri

Post by mikey s »

Hi people, am changing a mates interior for his corsa envoy- grey interior to the more sporty Sri. Seats and door cards front and rears!

Is it a straight forward bolt out and back in job or is there anything I should keep in mind?

I know I will have to cut holes for the window winders. Any useful tips?

Thanks
Mike

Not too sure bud, apart from the winder holes they should be a straight swap surely?
My number one suggestion would be to make sure you start it with a bucket load of determination, a swear box, suit of
Armour and plasters. Lol! I just took my door cards off to wire remote central locking and lost about 12 pints of blood in the process haha.

Lol we were thinking of adding central locking and electric windows that was going to be my next question. I've read somewhere to count the number of pins in the door.

well check how many you have anyway, if you have more then two then you should be able to have central locking, if it looks to have even more again then you should be able to have electric windows aswell. its a bit of a weird one but if you have more than two then your 3/4 of the way there.

you only need the whole loom if you dont have all the plugs in your door connector already, some cars already have the interior loom and its just the door looms that need changing.

Right, update to the interior swapping pretty much all done after a lot cursing!

Pretty much a straight swap over with the front and rear door cards, the front seats and the bottom half of the rear bench!

However noticed that the top half of the rear bench has different mounting frames and latches? I take it at some point maybe of the face lift models they changed these. not to sure to how about fixing this. Looking at the original bench that came with the car you can unclip the seat covers and sponge from the metal seat frame. Not to sure with the Sri and didnt want to start stripping the covers. Any ideas?

Also had issue removing the seat frames from the floor as the screws had rusted themselves to the bottom of the car and wouldn't move so instead we left the frames in place and just unscrewed the seats from the frames just a tad more awkward lining up the seats with the screw holes but job done. All good.

the corsa rear seats are all over the shop, they did loads of different designs for mounting them, best option is to swap the seat foams and fabrics from one metal seat frame to another, its really simple but make sure you take everything steady espesh around the plastic trim on top of the seat, you can just about prise the fabric over them without taking the plastic trim off, thats if both your seats are solid backs as its a straight swap, or if both your seats are 60/40 split then again the fabrics a straight swap, but if one seats a 60/40 and the others a solid back then you'v got a bit of trouble but thats the only problems you should have.

Nice one! Thanks pricer, I did think it would be possible just didn't want to be accused of destroying my mates interior lol. They are both solid back so as you say should be easier. Will let him know and start stripping when we get the time.
