a little accident but need help

i have known for ages that the bearing in the rear wheel needed changed and the last couple of weeks there has been a rattle noise but when the kids in the street brok my wheel trim i seen this


does this mean the bearings have collapsed and what damage could i have done

nah all taht means is the cap thats suposed to cover the end has come off. and therfore all the oil/grease has sprayed everywhere

yeah but isnt that the bearing cover thing sticking thru the wheel??

so when I change the bearings do I have to change them in the other wheel aswell or not

that bit that sticks through is the lock nut.
nahh your ok to just change one set at a time. but make sure you tap out the inner races of the bearings at the time of renewal!! as your new bearings will be just as nackered as your old set within weeks due to them following the worn lines in your original outer bearing race.

well the garage should do that as i havent a clue how to change them haha and is thses the right part
